The Camino was quiet as we left Sarria this morning and indeed last night was the only time that I have ever seen the old main street (where almost all of the albergues are lovated) completely empty.
We spent some time walking with a couple from new zealand. As he, Roger, was a retired teacher ddad had a great conversation and stode off out of sight of the rest of us.
Today was a cooler day, the right temperature for a nice walk.
The 100km marker always feels like an achievement (although it was at a slightly different spot a few years ago - moved for accuracy or to reduce erosion I guess) never mind where I have started from I guess because from now on the distance to Santiago is only in double digits.
Just beyond the 100km mark is casa morgade which I stayed in on my first Camino in 2009. I recently found out that it was built some time before 1200 and was a Pilgrim hospital. Here we had apple, carrot and orange juice to drink, very refreshing!
And then a little further on we saw an ostrich in an enclosure with chickens. I'm sure that there is an explanation for this I just hsve no idea what it is!
We stayed in a private albergue with lovely views over the jills (photos are on my camera abd so will follow later) and ate out at yhe bar.
