We were up at 6:30 and took Mum's bag down for 7:30 before eating breakfast in our room. As we headed downstairs at 8:40 we realised that we had forgotten to write our day's destination on Mum's bag.
The receptionist was no doubt surprised when we were asking desperately if the Post Office had collected our bag but he told us that they had not so we got our bag and once we managed to communicate the problem he had laughed and fetched us a pen to fill in the needed details.
We walked through the old town and nipped into the Parador to get a sello.
As we walked over the bridge out of time we thought that we might have seen seals - there was something large swimming up and down but it never came near to the surface for long enough to be sure what it was.
We found a house where the family had turned their basement into a little café with vending machines so stopped for a drink and snack.
A lot of the day was spent on forest paths which were nice and cool.
We were staying in the spa hotel in Caldas and once settled I went our for food and found a Chinese Bazaar shop where I bought some duct tape as the soles had started to come off Mum's shoes during the day - on the Camino Frances I had seen someone's shoes in a similar state about 250km from Santiago and had seen them again in that city with the same tape of their shoes so thought this was our best option (on my last time on the Camino Portuguese Dad had had one of his soles start to de-attach and had tried to glue it in place which had not worked, we had found someone to repair them then but were beyond the that gtown this time).
