I have only walked the first 20miles of this route so have no idea about the accuracy/usefulness of any of these books - if anyone does have any experience then do please let us know in the comments below.
Good walking books have an ebook 'Tavel Via Francigenia Canterbury to Rome for $7 Australian (about £4 as I was writing this post) - it is available at http://www.goodwalkingbooks.com/travel_vf.html (you can also look at a sample here although this does not show much it looks like the book is part guide, part diary of the author's walk)
Lightfoot Guide Books publishes a guide in three parts: Canterbury to Bescancon, Bescancon to Vercelli and Vercelli to Rome which vary in price from 12-25 Euros (about £9.50-20) depending on volume and whether you buy the ebook or the paperback version (reading some people's experience with these books has taught me that if you buy all three they weigh about a kilogram!)
Cicerone publish a guide in two parts: Canterbury to the Saint Bernard pass and then the Pass to Rome. These are available at http://www.cicerone.co.uk/product/detail.cfm/book/607/title/the-via-francigena-canterbury-to-rome---part-2#.VxiXD2f2aM8 as ebooks or printed versions (no difference in price, £14.95 each for part one and £16.95 each for part two)
There is a new guide book translated from an Italian edition (written by Franco Cinti and Monica d'Atti entitled 'Guide to the Via Franciena) which covers the route from Montgenevre to Rome (about 900km, this is an alternative route to that starting in Canterbury) which is available as an ebook from http://percorsiditerre.it/negozio/the-via-francigena/ and includes route description, maps, distance, accommodation and places of interest.
Those are the only books that I can find in English but if you can speak other languages these are also available: Information taken from http://littlegreentracs.typepad.com/my_weblog/2011/01/guidebooks-on-the-via-francigena-updated-list.html)
French Guidebook:La Via Francigena. Sur la trace des pèlerins de Canterbury à Rome - Jean-Yves Grégoire walked the Via Francigena from Canterbury to Rome and wrote a guidebook for the route. This latest book on the Via Francigena covers the entire 1,900 km route from Canterbury to Rome in 12 sections focusing mostly on the historical elements of the trail. ISBN-13: 978-2737348815
German Guidebooks:
Schweiz Italien, Via Francigena - written by Ingrid Retterath and published by Conrad Verlag Stein. ISBN-13: 9783866862814
The guide covers the distance from Lausanne to Rome and provides hikers with a cultural and historical overview of the route. The book describes in detail the route and gives practical information on places of interest, accommodation, and places to eat.
