Symbols of the three main Christian Pilgrimages

The symbol of the Pilgrim to Santiago is the Scallop shell  of which many can be found on the coast of Galicia and it is actually a symbol of the Pilgrimage (and has become a symbol of other Christian Pilgrimages too) partly because you could find the shell easily there and so could go back home and show it off as proof that you had done the Pilgrimage. It has also been included in carvings in some Churches.

Saint James' Day card 2017 2

My Mum did this painting based on a postcard I sent her from the Camino for Saint James' Day last year If like her you have artistic ability this would make a lovely card for some for Saint James' Day or a wonderful gift (as mine was) - it could be based on a postcard or on a photograph taken on the Camino.

Saint James' Day card 2017

Saint James' Day us on the 25th July so here's  a few different card ideas.  This first one simply involves folding a piece of yellow card in half, drawing out half an arrow (so when opened out the card is a full arrow), using a scallop shell stamp and then writing 'Happy Saint James' Day' on it, cheap and easy to do
