Camino Ingles: Day 5 - September 6th, Bruma to Siguiero

The Cicerone guidebook for today suggested walking the final 40km in one day but we were not doing that - I have before walked about 32km in a day (once on purpose and the other time because the albergue we had planned to stay at was closed and it was five kilometers back to an albergue or, we thought, six kilometers on so we decided to go on only realizing that we had mis-calculated after we had arrived!) and if it was entirely necessary we thought that we could walk 40km but seeing as there was some where else to stay and we had plenty of time before our flight we decided to split this stage into a 24km day followed by one of 16km.

Camino Ingles: Day 4 - 5th September, Presedo to Hospital de Bruma

Talking to someone else who stayed in our albergue last night she said that she thought a fire alarm must have sounded because as soon as it was 6:30 everyone in the room was up and packing! We just all seemed to be in a rush at exactly the same time and this sense of speed made us really quick packing so that we were out of the albergue by 6:55! It was still really dark so we decided that seeing as the bar stated it was open at 7 we would go and get a drink so we used our torches to follow the path and arrived at the bar at 7:08 to find that it was firmly closed. For a second or so we stood there as if staring at the large wooden gate would force it open but nothing happened so we decided we would just take it slow and steady in the dark and check very carefully with our torches on every turn. Plus Bar Julia was just before the big hill so we would stop there for a drink.

Camino Ingles: Day 3 - 4th September, Betanzos to Presedo

Today was to be our shortest day on the Camino at only 10.5 kilometers so we were a little more leisurely about getting up and off - we were up at 6:50 and off at 7:30.

Camino Ingles Day 2: Pontedeume to Betanzos - 3rd September

After the disturbed night last night we were up at 6:30 and off by the really early time of 7:10 - except for walking the last day into Santiago from Arco do Pino I think that this is the earliest I have ever set off on Camino!
